I am totally a list person. Are you?
- To-do Lists
- Shopping Lists
- Honey-to-do lists (but those are more or less ignored most of the time).
You get the idea? And if making individual lists was not enough, I also make a master list of all these lists 🙂 .
Just because lists are FUN!
Do you have a list of your favorite things? I would l-o-v-e to hear from you. Do let me know in the comments.
Anyway, coming back to recipes, I have an amazing recipe round-up today. What is the recipe round-up theme? "Cook with kids". Here is a list of five recipes that you can cook with kids.[dt_quote type="pullquote" layout="right" font_size="h5" animation="none" size="2"]Preparing food is one of life's great joys, but a lot of times, parents ask their kids if they want to cook with them and then tell them to go peel a bag of potatoes. That's not cooking - that's working - Guy Fieri[/dt_quote] I have tried to get Sonshine interested in cooking for a long time now. Now that he is older and seeing us (my husband & I) work for the blog - shooting pictures, talking technicalities about the blog - Sonshine is taking cooking a wee bit more seriously than before. My first few experiences to cook with him were traumatic for both of us. I used to give him a menial task which was not challenging enough for him, and he would crib that it is no fun. Both of us would be trying to control each other and then in the end, both of us would be disappointed. I then realized that I have to let go, and let him be the cook. I am there just to guide him, to make sure he is safe from kitchen accidents and once he is done, I am ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the dish he prepared. This is the best approach that has worked for us.
Here is the list of recipes that I promised. Click on the link or the title or the image and it will take you straight to the recipe.

When you cook with kids, you have to keep it simple, colorful and tasty. That is exactly what Teena did when she prepared this yummy Blueberry Gallette with her kid. She also suggests some ideas on how she keeps her 4 year old engaged. I found her ideas pretty useful and I bet you will find them useful too.
